Projects and media
Understand project storage, importing, proxies, media versions, and relinking offline files.
How projects store your work
A VibeMe project keeps its editable structure, timeline, storyboard, generation history, and job records together. Imported originals normally remain where they already live and are referenced by the project. Generated media is managed inside the project by default.
Keep the complete project folder together when moving it. Avoid editing the project database or managed media folders by hand.
Import media
- Use the import control or drag files into the asset library.
- Wait while VibeMe probes the media and creates thumbnails, waveforms, or editor-friendly proxies in the background.
- Drag the indexed asset onto a compatible video or audio track.
Relink offline media
If an imported source is moved or disconnected, VibeMe keeps its logical asset and every timeline reference but marks the media offline.
- Reconnect the drive or locate the moved source file.
- Choose the relink action for the offline asset.
- Select the matching file. VibeMe verifies its size and fingerprint before reconnecting it.
- Review the timeline and resume editing or export.
Versions and takes
A logical asset can contain multiple versions or takes. A timeline clip remains pinned to the exact version you placed, so changing the active take in the library does not silently replace an existing edit.
- Make Active chooses the default version for future use.
- Rename Take gives a useful name to an alternate.
- Duplicate as Independent Asset breaks a take into its own asset.
- Reveal Generation Settings shows its model, inputs, parameters, lineage, and available cost information.
- A referenced take cannot be deleted until its timeline use is removed.
